It seems like just yesterday that I was celebrating New Years Eve in LA with friends...ringing in 2001. We spent that evening watching Stanley Kubrick's 2001, A Space Odyssey just for kicks. Somehow a quarter century has flashed by and here we are in mid February 2026. Having endured almost two entire dark winters on the east coast after thirty years on the west coast, I have to say, its not for the faint of heart. This year so far has been brutally cold...far beyond what I ever recalled in years past. The sense that Spring is impending has me hopeful and yearning for it.
The cold weather however has proven to be a good impetus for working with fibre. Especially wool and cashmere. I stopped creating for almost all of 2025 off to deal with family life issues which were in need of my attention. But when I drift too far from creativity all who surround me also suffer for it. Encouraged to return to my looms by so many...I finally did in November 2025. Some beautiful and unexpected things emerged from my creative center. Balance felt restored. Creativity is so restorative for me. Happy to report that all is well. Family feels balanced. Work feels balanced. Life feels harmonious and full of hope.
